What is Camp Meeting?
In an age of limited vacation time, relentless schedules, and an increasing disconnect from one another, we’d like to propose a truly Christian alternative... Consider bringing your family to the beautiful woodlands of east Texas, to the joyful fun, simple fellowship, and Spirit-filled worship found during Camp Meeting, which will occur over Memorial Day weekend - May 24th - 27th at Scottsville Camp.
The term “Camp Meeting” originally referred to meetings first held in the frontier days of the mid 19th century in which Christians of all ages gathered in tents and temporary shelters for a brief time to worship and fellowship in natural settings. Eventually, faith communities sought and obtained permanent locations and cabins were built where the tent sites were once located, drawing people from far and near for several weeks, usually in the summer. Today, “Camp Meeting” might better be described as a time devoted to moving from busyness and productivity to setting apart time for genuine “sabbath” rest. It's an opportunity for the whole family to rest, relax, have fun, and draw near to the Lord.

All meals will be provided, so there is no need to bring food.
Some family rooms and cabins have bunk beds that do not have any bedding on them, so you may need to bring twin size bedding (sheets, blankets) if you are assigned to one of those rooms. You will be notified via email before the camp if you're assigned to one of those rooms.
